The Last Post...

Well, this will be my last post here....Why? Because I'm moving to www.artwithaporpoise.com ! It's a whole new website, more organized, and it's all my own, not hosted by another site like Blogger. I do love Blooger though, and will be using the current Scrawlings of a Savage blog as my blog on the new page too. The new website will be launching in two and a half hours, March 1st, at midnight. What the heck is going on?

Okay, so I'm going to lay this out pure and simple. I can never make my mind up. I keep waffling back and forth on what I want to do, and how I should do things. I apologize if I say something, only to change my mind later. This is frustrating even to myself. However, I think I've finally, honestly, sorted things out. This is a crazy year, and it's only going to get more hectic. I'm getting married in October, and that's going to keep me busy. I also am in pathetically desperate need of money, so I'm going to be hard at work with art projects. However, because of the unpredictability of my schedule right now, I cannot commit to any release dates. I can say that I have some cute/nice/awesome things in the works, but I can't say when I'll be finished with them yet. That being said, do not hesitate to put in a commission request! Those of course, get my full attention. If you're up for adventure, come, follow me! You'll never know what may be in store! I also want to ask a favor of anyone up to it. I need to get my name around, so if you like me, and/or like what I do, please let people know about BahariHaunt.com . I've got the website, I'm on Facebook and Twitter, and sell things through Zazzle, DeviantArt, and RedBubble. It really would mean the world to me. Growing Pains

I've taken another step back to look at what exactly it is that I'm doing, and what I want to do. I apologize to anyone who follows me, for running all over the place. I can't help but think this is what happens to a lot of people just trying to start out, though. I had originally wanted to release a new collection with five animals every month. However, I'm finding that to be a bit tight with time constraints. At least, how I had wanted to do it. I'm trying to focus on improving my art skills as well with things outside of my collections. That's limiting my time, as well. I think what I will do...(and this may change), will be to focus more on baby and child products (as my art reflects). "Bahari Baby" is floating around in my head now...I'll hold off on THAT change for now though. I would still like to have my collections, but I think I will pour a little more love into those, and maybe tailor my images to fit their products a little better. Add some more design flair to them. As it is, I feel the designs are lacking, and while cute, are just that. Cute. Not desirable, not worthy of spending money on. Please bear with me while I muddle through these changes and experiments. I welcome any and all input! If there are certain things you would like to see, let me know!

Where's Jen been?

Alright, so I had hoped to have a nice line of holiday critters laid out on some merchandise in time for Christmas. Unfortunately, I was only able to squeeze out an arctic fox, and a narwhal (which I love). Having been sick most of November, and part of December, I just didn't have the motivation or energy to work on anything. Now with the holidays, there will be a few more delays.

However, I've started thinking about "collections". Themed image sets. I'll make sure that I finish each collection before moving onto another, but I've got lots of plans. My goal is to have 5 guys in each set to start, and I'll be adding onto those whenever I can.  Here's what's in the works currently, in no particular order:

The first planned release (I'll let you have this one) is the Arctic Collection. Expected completion date will be February 1st.

I'm making an effort to really schedule myself, and finish things in a more timely manner. Wish me luck!

Finshed?

Well, aside from get a whole lot more art up, and creating some products to get in my stores...I think I'm actually pretty happy with my website, and blog. I can't find any more real work to do on them....
This is a first, for me. It's finished. Just waiting to be filled.

Generally, I'm never really satisfied with such things, and am always restarting, or tinkering and adjusting. I'm sure that will come eventually...but I'm actually happy right now. I can relax and take a little step back, and say that everything is done!

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Now to make this place 'haunt' worthy!

I'm actually planning a, can I say this?, line of baby/child products. I'll be working on some super cute animal things to put out in my Zazzle and Cafe Press stores. I'm really looking forward to this...I love kids, and I think the idea of creating things geared towards kids is actually kind of exciting!

This little guy is a sample of what my animals will look like. I'm just in the process of finding a better art program, that with give me smoother lines, and maybe help correct some of my shaky handy work.

Shop Coming Soon

So if you take a look through the website, you'll see a couple new things. Hopefully, this place will be near 100% come late Tuesday next week (end of my weekend).

Anyhow, two things. My commission menu is up! It should be pretty self explanatory.

I also found Ecwid, a really neat looking tool for hosting an online shop. I'm going to give this a try, and see how it goes. It looks quite professional, and looks like I can really organize myself with it. I'm very excited to be tinkering with this new toy.

Portfolio Progress

So if you'll notice, I've got my photography portfolio up now! There aren't too many photos in there yet, as I'm still in the editing process. I've got about 40 photos to tidy up to my liking. If there are any issues viewing, please let me know! I've got a pretty huge monitor resolution, so it may not look super hot on others. That's all for now! ~Jenicsaco
